At Spotlight MX, auditions are designed to be a positive, encouraging, and growth-focused experience for students of all levels. Whether you’re auditioning for a show, a special program, or a performance group, our goal is to help every artist shine confidently onstage. ✨🎭
Here’s how our audition process works:
🎤 1. Registration
Students sign up for auditions through our announcements or class notifications. Each audition will specify its age range, required skills, and available roles or placements.
📄 2. Audition Requirements
Before the audition day, we’ll share exactly what you need to prepare. This may include:
A short vocal piece (16–32 bars)
A dance combination
A monologue or acting prompt
Comfortable clothing and appropriate footwear
Requirements vary depending on the production or program.
🎬 3. Audition Day
On the day of the audition, students:
Check in with our team
Warm up in a designated space
Perform their prepared pieces
Learn a short choreography sequence (for musicals or dance programs)
Our instructors create a supportive environment—no one auditions alone without guidance.
👀 4. Callbacks (if needed)
Some projects include a callback round. This gives our team a chance to see performers interact, try different roles, or work through scenes and songs in groups.
⭐ 5. Casting / Placement
After reviewing all auditions, our artistic team selects the best placement for each student. Casting is based on:
Skill level
Age group
Vocal/acting/dance compatibility
Ensemble balance
Growth potential
We always aim to give every student a meaningful learning experience.
📩 6. Results & Next Steps
Students receive an email or message in the Help Center with their placement, role, or next step. Rehearsal schedules and costume information are provided once casting is finalized.
